A plain-words description of what Tropic Tumble: Island Voyage keeps, what it does not, and the choices you have.

Updated 6 November 2026.

The short version

Tropic Tumble: Island Voyage is a game you play on your own. There is no chat and no friend list. You do not need an account, and you do not need to give us your email, phone number or real name to play.

Your game is saved on your own phone. Signing in with Google or Apple is your choice. Only if you sign in, a copy of your game is also kept online so you can get it back on a new phone (see "Saving online, only if you sign in" below).

This policy is for Tropic Tumble: Island Voyage, made by JPott Studios. It is written for players aged 13 and older.

What stays on your phone

The game saves your coins, Pearls, rank, ship, kitchens, trades, settings, and the captain name and face you chose. It also saves a random support ID (see below), your choice about optional reward videos, and your choice about crash reports and play numbers.

Your captain name is only shown inside the game. Please do not use your real full name. Names are checked for kind words, and only letters are allowed.

Your support ID

The game makes a random code like TT-AB12-CD34. It is made only of random letters and numbers, so it says nothing about you or your phone. You can copy it from your captain card and send it to us if you ask for help, so we can talk about the same game.

Saving online, only if you sign in

In Settings you can choose to sign in with Google (on Android) or Apple (on iPhone). It is optional. If you never sign in, nothing about your play is sent to us.

If you sign in, we keep: the sign-in ID that Google or Apple gives us, your email address if they share it (the game only shows part of it), a random player ID we make for you, your support ID, and a copy of your game: your captain name and face, coins, Pearls, rank, ship, kitchens, trades, settings and the time you last played. The copy is saved when your game changes and when you leave the game.

We use it only to give your game back on a new phone, to stop two games from being mixed up, and to help you if you ask for support. Your name stays inside the game. There is no chat and no friend list, and we do not show your name or game to other players.

If you have a game on this phone and another one online, the game shows you both and you pick which to keep. The one you do not pick is kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, and then it is erased.

Signing out in Settings stops saving online on this phone and leaves your game and your online copy as they are. "Delete online data" in Settings erases your online copy and your sign-in link from our servers. Your game on your phone stays.

Reminders

Reminders are off until you say yes. If you turn them on, your phone shows a quiet note, at most one a day, when something is really waiting (like a ready kitchen). They are made by your phone from information already on it, and nothing is sent to us. Turn them off any time in Settings, or in your phone's notification settings.

Buying things

If you buy something, the purchase is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. They take your payment and keep your payment details. We never see your card or bank information. The store tells the game that a purchase went through so the game can give you what you bought, and so you can restore it on a new phone.

Captain's Club is a monthly subscription. It renews each month until you cancel it in your store account settings. Prices are shown in the store before you buy. There are no free trial days.

Optional reward videos

You can choose to watch a short video for a small reward. A video only plays when you tap the Watch button yourself: the game never plays a video or an ad on its own. You are asked once, before the first video is offered, and you can change your mind any time in Settings > More > Reward videos. If you say no, you lose nothing important: the whole game plays without videos.

If you say yes, the videos come from Google AdMob. We ask for ads that are not based on your interests (non-personalised ads), and the game does not ask to track you across other apps. To show, count and limit ads, Google may still collect things like your phone's advertising ID, your approximate location from your internet address, and what you did with the ad. We do not give them your captain name or your game. Google has its own privacy policy. You can reset or turn off the advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Reward videos are not part of every version of the game. If your version has none, this part does not apply.

Crash reports and play numbers

The game sends a small crash report if it stops working, and a few play numbers, so we can find and fix problems. These come through Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics), a free Google service.

A crash report holds things like your phone model, the Android or iOS version, the game version and where in the game's code it stopped. The play numbers are plain counts such as 'a shift ended, won, rank 4', 'a little game ended' or 'a lesson was finished'. They never include your captain name, anything you typed, your game, your support ID or your email.

It is on by default and you can turn it off any time in Settings > More > Crash reports and play numbers. When it is off, nothing more is sent. Firebase does not read your advertising ID for this.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not make an account for you unless you choose to sign in. We do not use your contacts, camera, microphone, photos or exact location. We do not follow you across other apps.

Who helps us keep it

If you sign in, your online copy is stored with our hosting and database services (Supabase and Vercel). Google or Apple handle the sign-in itself and have their own privacy policies. Reward videos (if you choose them), crash reports and play numbers (Google Firebase), and store purchases are handled by the companies named above. We use no one else with your information.

Backups

On Android, your phone may back up app data to your own Google account if you have phone backup turned on. That is your phone's feature, not ours. If you do not sign in, the game keeps no copy on our servers.

Children

The game is made for players 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent and think a younger child chose a name or turned on videos, write to us and we will help.

Erasing your game

In the game, open Settings, then Start over. It erases the captain, the journey and the money from your phone, including backup copies the game made. Deleting the app also removes the game from your phone.

If you signed in, your online copy is separate: open Settings and tap "Delete online data" to erase it (you need to be online). Start over signs you out on this phone but does not erase the online copy by itself, so you can still get the old game back if you change your mind. You can also write to us and we will erase it.

Changes and contact

If the game starts to do something new with your information (for example friends or crews), we will update this page first and tell you in the game. Questions or requests: jpottstudios@gmail.com.
